Kieran Richardson – Managing and Preventing ACL Injuries
Many athletes or weekend warriors live in fear of the anterior cruciate ligament or ACL injury. This is a ligament that sits inside your knee keeping it stable. It is an injury common in many sports and can put you out of action for numerous months, whilst you get better.
For professional athletes, it used to be a career threatening injury but today, with better science, you can recover very well from the problem.
As with all things, it is better not to have the problem in the first place. So in line with our vision at HealthAide that prevention is key, we talk to Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Kieran Richardson on managing and preventing ACL injuries.
Kieran is an expert in the management of (ACL) injuries. He talks about the latest guidance on physiotherapy management and compares non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment options. In addition, Kieran outlines what every active individual or athlete, from recreational to professional, should be doing to minimise their risk of having an ACL injury.
