Henry Wajswelner, Ex-Olympic Physio – How To Prevent Skiing and Snowboarding Injuries For Beginners

It is great fun on the slopes. The buzz you get from being on top of a mountain and then making it to the bottom of a challenging slope, is amazing. It is great exercise in an exhilarating location.

Unless you are lucky enough to live near a ski resort, many people can only ski or board once a year. This means that when we hit the slopes, our bodies are not prepared for the demands soon to be placed on them.

This unfortunately leads to injury and anyone who ski’s regularly know that cold shiver you get, when you hear the sound of a helicopter airlifting someone to hospital with an injury.

Common sense would say that before you take part in any intense sport, do some training beforehand. But let’s be honest, have you ever thought about doing this before you go skiing?

I will be frank, I did not think about it until I watched this video from Harry, on how to prevent skiing and snowboarding injuries – it seems so obvious, when it is said that it is crazy that people do not consider it.

Watch this video for great insights on how to prepare yourself for ski season.
